Nose
Honey, ripe pear and vanilla, with a light hazelnut note.
Palate
Creamy and smooth; toffee, baked apple and a little cinnamon.
Finish
Medium and soft, with gentle oak and a last trace of honey.
The verdict
This is the whisky that started many a cabinet, and it's here in the older 1.14-litre format with the 43% strength printed on the label. Strathisla malt sits at the heart of the blend, and you can taste that Speyside fruit right away.
It doesn't try to challenge you. It's round, sweet and polished, and perfect when friends drop by and not everyone is into peat or cask strength.
